Underground Public Utility Locator Technician - Dallas/Ft Worth

Mason Private Locating is a Midwest-based underground utility locating company specializing in private and public utility locating, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), robotic pipe inspections, and cross-bore mitigation. About the role

As a Utility Locator Technician, you'll locate and mark public 811 underground utilities supporting major fiber optic projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where some travel may be required. Responsibilities

• Locate and accurately mark underground fiber optic utilities
• Read and interpret utility maps, plans, and construction prints
• Operate locating equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete required documentation and daily reports
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and teammates
• Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
• Maintain company equipment and vehicle
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ years utility locating experience
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to walk uneven terrain including dirt, gravel, grass, and roadways
• Willingness to travel overnight as needed
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation

Pay

$22-$25 per hour (based on experience), with attendance incentives, overtime opportunities, and per diem for qualifying travel.
