Underground B Lineperson

Essential Functions

• Directs and assists crew with setting poles and anchors.
• Directs and assists crew with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Directs and assists crew with troubleshooting trouble in primary and secondary systems.
• Directs and assists crew with replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
• Works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill.
• Affixes pad mount transformers.
• Works in underground manholes and trenches.
• Complies with all safety and health rules.
• Performs work or operates vehicle/equipment only where training and qualification has been provided.
• Demonstrates safe work behavior.
• Stops work when unsafe acts or conditions are identified.
• Reports all injuries no matter how minor to the Foreperson immediately.
• Reports all incidents and near misses to Foreperson.
• Affirms tools, equipment and vehicles are in safe working order.
• Ensures proper equipment and materials are loaded for the job.
• Ensures equipment and material are used correctly at the job site.
• Enters onto personal/commercial property.
• Ensures the prints are competed for each specific job and always returns prints to the Foreperson.
• Safely completes the job while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work.
• Able to lead crew members in absence of Foreperson.
• Maintains company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
