Underground B Lineperson
Essential Functions
- Directs and assists crew with setting poles and anchors.
- Directs and assists crew with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
- Directs and assists crew with troubleshooting trouble in primary and secondary systems.
- Directs and assists crew with replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
- Works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill.
- Affixes pad mount transformers.
- Works in underground manholes and trenches.
- Complies with all safety and health rules.
- Performs work or operates vehicle/equipment only where training and qualification has been provided.
- Demonstrates safe work behavior.
- Stops work when unsafe acts or conditions are identified.
- Reports all injuries no matter how minor to the Foreperson immediately.
- Reports all incidents and near misses to Foreperson.
- Affirms tools, equipment and vehicles are in safe working order.
- Ensures proper equipment and materials are loaded for the job.
- Ensures equipment and material are used correctly at the job site.
- Enters onto personal/commercial property.
- Ensures the prints are competed for each specific job and always returns prints to the Foreperson.
- Safely completes the job while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work.
- Able to lead crew members in absence of Foreperson.
- Maintains company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
