Job Description and Position Requirements

The Department of Geosciences is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Undergraduate Research Assistant.

Job duties to include:

  • Preparing tephra samples for analysis including sieving, washing, photographing, and describing samples.
  • Mounting feldspar grains and any glass shards in epoxy to prepare them for geochemical analysis and running them on the electron microprobe under the supervision of Dr. Erin DiMaggio.
  • Interpreting the results by comparing the data to previously published data on feldspars and glass to determine correlations among samples.

Undergraduate student in Geosciences

Pay

The starting rate for this job is $20/Hr.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
