About the role

Altheda Medical Center offers a unique opportunity for pre-med, pre-nursing, or pre-PA students to gain hands-on clinical and administrative experience while preparing for their future in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Gain clinical exposure by preparing patient rooms, setting up instruments, and assisting with basic procedures.
• Aid in direct patient care, including helping patients with transfers, collecting specimens, and preparing for exams.
• Perform phlebotomy and learn essential clinical techniques under supervision.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance eligibility and organizing patient flow.
• Interact with patients and healthcare providers, developing essential communication and professional skills.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and the PA Department of Health standards.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in pre-med, nursing, or a related healthcare field.
• Eager to learn and committed to providing excellent patient care.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with medical/psychiatric terminology is a plus but not required.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred but not mandatory.
