About the role

Einstein Bros. Bagels is seeking a General Manager to oversee all aspects of a store with a “treat it like you own it” philosophy. The GM leads a one‑shift model, starting early to bake and open the store, ensures audit readiness, manages catering and in‑store orders, delivers an exceptional customer experience, and closes the store each day. The role includes recruiting, developing talent, and driving food‑cost and labor‑target performance.

Responsibilities

• Start as early as 4 am to perform the first bake and open the store (store opens to customers at 6 am).
• Ensure the store is audit‑ready and that catering, mobile, and in‑store orders are executed accurately.
• Maintain an exceptional customer experience and achieve strong customer survey results.
• Float in all positions during breakfast and lunch rushes, covering breaks and supporting the team.
• Close the store at 2 pm, complete the 30‑45 minute shutdown, and prep for the next day (ordering, inventory, admin tasks).
• Take the daily deposit to the bank.
• Recruit quality team members and develop internal talent.
• Analyze P&L statements, meet food‑cost goals, and manage labor targets.
• Motivate and inspire the team, fostering a fun and collaborative environment.
• Complete 5 weeks of training provided by the company.

Requirements

• 1–3 years prior experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a restaurant setting.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
• Prior exposure to P&L analysis (valuable but not mandatory).
• Proven ability to achieve food‑cost and labor‑target goals.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and developing team members.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Pay

• Competitive salary: $60,000 per year.
• Quarterly bonus program (over 60 % of GMs received a bonus last year).

Schedule

• Operating hours: 6 am – 2 pm (no nights or evenings).
• Leaders may start as early as 4 am for baking and preparation.
• Store closes at 2 pm; shutdown and prep take 30‑45 minutes.
