Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean background with no criminal convictions
• Physical strength and fitness
• Clean cut appearance and grooming standards required
• Strict moral and ethical code of integrity and honesty
• Minimum one year prior experience as a Security Guard (may be waived on a case-by-case basis for Unarmed Officers)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work alone with limited supervision as well as to be a team player
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and to respect a Chain of Command
• Ability to solve problems as they arise
• Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations and to use Deescalation techniques
• Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
• Ability to submit daily written reports
• Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
• Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense (training is also provided)
• Trained in legal Use of Force (training is also provided)
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Great customer service skills

Duties

• Patrolling and monitoring activities on Client properties and other premises regularly to discourage criminal activity and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining suspects/perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
• Cooperating/working with law enforcement in documenting criminal complaints and transferring custody of detained and/or arrested suspects
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to client management and security supervisors
• Inspecting and patrolling premises regularly
• Responding to alarms and reacting in a timely manner
• Providing assistance to people in need
• Protecting the public while on client property
• Submitting reports of daily surveillance activity
• Maintaining regular training standards and relevant security qualifications and certifications
