Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Clean background with no criminal convictions
- Physical strength and fitness
- Clean cut appearance and grooming standards required
- Strict moral and ethical code of integrity and honesty
- Minimum one year prior experience as a Security Guard (may be waived on a case-by-case basis for Unarmed Officers)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work alone with limited supervision as well as to be a team player
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and to respect a Chain of Command
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
- Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations and to use Deescalation techniques
- Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Ability to submit daily written reports
- Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
- Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense (training is also provided)
- Trained in legal Use of Force (training is also provided)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Great customer service skills
Duties
- Patrolling and monitoring activities on Client properties and other premises regularly to discourage criminal activity and ensure the environment is safe and secure
- Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining suspects/perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
- Cooperating/working with law enforcement in documenting criminal complaints and transferring custody of detained and/or arrested suspects
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to client management and security supervisors
- Inspecting and patrolling premises regularly
- Responding to alarms and reacting in a timely manner
- Providing assistance to people in need
- Protecting the public while on client property
- Submitting reports of daily surveillance activity
- Maintaining regular training standards and relevant security qualifications and certifications
