Job Title: Unarmed Security Officer Location: Downtown San Diego Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time Pay: $17-19/hr Schedule: To Be Determined Job Summary: Star Pro Security Patrol, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Unarmed Security Officer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be alert, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for all. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and patrol shelter premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gatesAssist in maintaining order and ensuring adherence to shelter rules and policies by residents, visitors, and staffRespond promptly to alarms and disturbances, investigating the cause and taking appropriate actionProvide a visible security presence to deter potential incidents and reassure residents and staffConduct regular checks of the facility, including sleeping areas, common areas, and outdoor spacesReport any irregularities, suspicious activities, or safety hazards to shelter managementAssist in the management of access control, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premisesProvide assistance and support to residents and staff as needed, including conflict de-escalation and first aid if requiredMaintain detailed logs and records of incidents and activities during each shiftCollaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary Qualifications: California BSIS Guard Card is REQUIREDPrevious security experience is a plusHigh school diploma or GEDPrior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferredStrong observational and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and composed in high-stress situationsMust be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as neededCPR/First Aid certification is a plusUnderstanding and empathy towards the needs of homeless individuals and families Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionallyAbility to respond quickly to emergency situations Benefits: - Weekly pay every Thursday- Health Insurance- Opportunities for advancement within the security department Star Pro Security Patrol, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.
