Unarmed Security Guard

About the role

Funko is a pop culture and licensed-focused collectibles company. Security Guards at Funko are responsible for protecting, safeguarding, and securing assets, buildings, employees, customers, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Secure Funko facilities, products, physical assets, and intellectual property
• Detect and deter situations that may impact Funko operations
• Perform security patrols of the entire Funko Campus on foot or in provided vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards; perform building unlock/lock-down
• Enforce company and department rules and policies; uphold city and state laws as applicable
• Maintain confidentiality in the collection, investigation, and reporting of all incidents and Funko property
• Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Effectively communicate with 911 and emergency responders to report suspicious activity and emergency incidents
• Provide security escorts as requested
• Respond to and verify visitor requests for entry to Headquarters, providing entry or guidance when needed
• Assist employees, customers, and visitors following the department's procedures in a courteous and professional manner
• Assume an active role in raising employee safety and security awareness

Requirements

• 1 or more years of prior security or military field experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of safety and security standards or loss prevention practices, and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail, observation, and recall skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills required; Incident report writing preferred
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when dealing with unusual, difficult, or stressful situations
• Ability to respond to situations in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency
• Able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee, and visitor incidents and security matters
• Able to maintain a neat and clean appearance to meet company standards and represent the company positively
• Able to work days, weekends, including holidays and special events. Including the possibility of working back to back shifts
• Able to stand and patrol for extended periods of time while maintaining radio communication with staff

They should also possess excellent attention to detail, observation, and recall skills, clear verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism and composure in stressful situations.

Pay

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $18.39 - $24.00 hourly. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Schedule

This on-site position is based in Everett, Washington. Security Guards work the overnight shift.
