Responsibilities
- Follow all company personnel, safety, and security policies while performing assigned duties in a safe and professional manner.
- Verify personnel identification, credentials, badges, and access authorizations using automated access control systems and established procedures.
- Conduct access control screening and inspections of personnel, vehicles, packages, and materials entering the installation.
- Utilize Automated Installation Entry (AIE), facial recognition, RFID, and other access control technologies as required.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, security violations, incidents, and equipment malfunctions to appropriate authorities.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with established procedures and use appropriate levels of force when authorized.
- Provide first aid and emergency assistance as required until relieved by emergency responders.
- Complete daily logs, reports, incident documentation, and other required records.
- Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and verbal communication.
- Maintain professional interaction with government personnel, contractors, visitors, and the public.
- Support emergency response operations, severe weather procedures, and installation security requirements.
- Maintain assigned uniforms, equipment, and duty gear in serviceable condition.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful U.S. resident authorized to work in the United States.
- Prior military, law enforcement, security, access control, or unarmed guard expereince required.
- Active Alabama unarmed guard license required.
- Must successfully pass required drug screening and background investigations, including installation access screening requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Redstone Arsenal installation access credentials.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must successfully complete all required contract, government, and site-specific training requirements.
- Must successfully complete required medical screening and maintain medical qualification standards.
- Must successfully pass and maintain physical agility requirements, including 19 pushups in two minutes and a 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Must maintain all required certifications, licenses, and qualifications necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Must be capable of working weekends, holidays, shift work, and overtime as required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform security duties and complete reports.
- Knowledge of access control, physical security, and force protection principles.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to observe, assess, and respond appropriately to security incidents and emergencies.
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and government personnel.
- Skill in operating computers, access control systems, radios, telephones, and other security equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow post orders, policies, regulations, and operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and maintain situational awareness.
- The employee may be required to run, climb, kneel, bend, crawl, lift, carry, push, or pull while performing security duties.
- The employee must be able to wear required duty gear and personal protective equipment and work in a variety of environmental conditions.
Work Environment
- Work is performed at access control points, gate facilities, and other designated locations throughout Redstone Arsenal.
- The employee will regularly work outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, vehicle traffic, elevated noise levels, and emergency situations.
