Full‑time unarmed security guard position at a charter school in Long Island City, Queens, New York City.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and guests inside the school.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff, and community members.
- Help create and maintain a positive working relationship with local police and fire departments.
- Request assistance from school administration and/or police when necessary.
- Control all access to the front entrance, ensuring persons entering are properly identified; keep the door buzzer in possession at all times except during meals.
- Assist law enforcement officers as directed by school administration.
- Follow school administrative rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving and responsible decision‑making skills.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Valid State ID.
- Valid security guard license (F03).
- Prior school experience preferred.
