About the Role
As an Armed Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team supporting critical facilities, infrastructure, public venues, and personal protective services. You’ll receive training from qualified firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship. This role is integral to the specialized security services Inter-Con provides its clients daily.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard personnel, assets, and property at assigned Bank locations.
- Identify and verify employees and authorized personnel entering Bank buildings or departments.
- Screen visitors, maintenance workers, vendors, couriers, and other personnel to confirm authorized entry.
- Ensure property passes or authorization accompany personnel leaving with equipment or packages.
- Respond to emergency conditions and take corrective action as directed by supervisors.
- Enforce all post orders and conform to general orders.
- Assist customers, employees, visitors, and emergency responders as required.
- Patrol Bank premises.
- Perform duties of a Fire Guard or Fire Safety Director, if required.
- Prepare incident reports detailing conditions or emergencies and actions taken.
Requirements
- Capable of handling the physical demands of the position, including responding to emergencies and rendering aid.
- At least 21 years old (USA only; exceptions may be approved by regional security director).
- Ability to read, write, and converse clearly in English.
- Customer-focused with strong telephone and interpersonal skills.
- Neat in dress and appearance, practicing good hygiene and personal cleanliness.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Completed state certification and licensing, as required.
- Satisfactory completion of initial drug test, criminal background check, motor vehicle record check (if applicable), and annual first aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Certified Fire Guard, if applicable; ability to obtain Fire Safety Director certification, if required.
- Minimum one (1) year of prior Security Officer experience (law enforcement or military experience may substitute).
