UMS Athletic Director

Job Summary

Under the direction of the school administration, the Athletic Director is to manage the athletic program at Vernal Middle School. District Expectations:

• Set up gyms and/or fields for games;
• Find clock operators;
• Arrange supervisors;
• Help Coaches with schedules;
• Arrange and pay officials;
• Communicate with Coaches;
• Communicate athlete, coach, and parent concerns with the building administration;
• Check to make sure the facilities are safe;
• Be part of hiring committees for Middle School coaches;
• Communicate and coordinate with school administration regarding athletics;
• Other duties as assigned by administration.

Education/Experience

• A High School Diploma required;
• Successful coaching experience;
• An applicant with a teaching certificate may receive preference;
• Willing to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other teachers and staff.

Application Requirements

• A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including at least one from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor).
