Position Summary
The Athletic Director serves as a designated representative for conducting the interscholastic athletics program at Responsive ED. The incumbent oversees selection and management of coaches, day to day administrative operations, game supervision, compliance, communications, and budgets of the school’s athletic programs.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree
- Experience: At least three years of teaching experience or student teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with adolescent students in a school setting.
- At least Two (2) years of coaching experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to apply basic computer programs (spreadsheet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, others) to enhance job performance.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Develops and monitors the department budget and approves departmental purchases and athletic schedules.
- Aids staff members in professional matters as requested or as the need for such assistance is observed.
- Ensures that the equipment is properly inventoried and maintained.
- Responsible for the administering of all interscholastic policies and procedures.
- Helps evaluate all new coaching candidates for positions.
- Responsible for all recommendations to the Campus Director for improvement of facilities.
- Collaborates with the campus for repair and maintenance of athletic areas.
- Solves conflicts that develop within the athletic department.
- Maintains a current file of student-athletes.
- Constantly evaluates the program, presents recommendations for changes in athletic policies to the Campus Director.
