UMMC Greenwood-Med/Surg-LPN-Inpatient-PRN

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by supervisor.
• Reports to supervisor and other staff any patient issues and concerns.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members and co-workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
• Maintains accurate patient records (e.g. charts, schedules, procedures, medication /treatment history, etc.).
• Maintains a safe environment for care.
• Functions in expanded role of IV therapy in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area.
• Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• LPN certified in IV therapy.

Qualifications

To perform job duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.

Skills

Knowledge of scope of licensed practical nurses, ability to delegate to nursing support staff. Knowledge of patient care procedures and protocols. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Knowledge and understanding of computer systems tools and programs. Ability to work in a team environment.
