UMH Sparrow - RADIATION THERAPIST-REG (Per diem)

Responsibilities Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy in accordance with the radiation oncologist written directive and maintains legible and accurate records of daily treatment as required. Performs radiation simulations procedures and observes patients for unusual reactions and/or events. Performs procedures related to physics/dosimetry with and without supervision of the physicist and/or dosimetrist. Follows all mandated departmental radiation safety, emergency, and hazardous materials procedures. Reports and records equipment deficiencies to the Manager and/or Bio-Medical Engineering. Responsible for supervision, instruction and education of students. Attends departmental meetings and conferences. Assists in nursing related functions as necessary. Responsible for coordination of work flow to accommodate quality patient care and patient treatments. Requirements Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 60 days of hire. Radiation Therapy American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered. JRCERT accredited radiation therapy program graduate. High School / GED education.
