Duties
- Performs ultrasound procedures on all scheduled patients safely and accurately.
- Follows imaging protocols to assure consistent and accurate test results.
- Treats patients in a professional and pleasant manner while attending to their needs and maximizing their level of comfort.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures, including OSHA and the corporate compliance plan.
- Adjusts to varying workflow as needed; requests assistance from co-workers and/or supervisor as appropriate.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment.
- Orders and stocks all supplies, as requested by supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor in a timely manner regarding any challenges with equipment.
- Maintains appropriate logs, card files, film folders, test results, etc., in an orderly fashion.
- Affords assistance in other areas during idle times in assigned areas.
- Performs all duties while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to all coworkers, management, and the public.
- Maintains CPR certification and all certifications/continuing education required and appropriate for position.
- Demonstrates current competencies related to job position.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent; completion of all required courses in ultrasound technology.
- Experience: Two years’ experience in ultrasound preferred in general and vascular.
- Certification/License: ARDMS certification required.
