Ultrasound Technologist II | Women's Health | Days

Responsibilities

Conducts diagnostic imaging studies in all trimesters, including first trimester dating and early anatomic assessments, detailed second and third trimester anatomic assessments, fetal echocardiography, growth assessments, Doppler studies, and transvaginal ultrasound.

Works directly and exclusively with perinatologists in a high quality independent fetal imaging center to improve and maintain ultrasound skills and obtain additional certifications, if needed.

Adheres to protocols established by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

Accurately differentiates between normal and pathologic findings during sonographic exams.

Prepares preliminary reports and communicates critical findings to Radiologists.

Integrates diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary.

Acquires optimal diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed.

Covers workload with the Departmental Manager to ensure adequate coverage.

Maintains the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients throughout their care.

Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all departments, physicians, and outside facilities.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
• REGISTERED DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER (RDMS)
• HS Diploma/GED
• Associates Degree in Ultrasound Technology or Graduate of Accredited Sonography Program
• Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS Registry)
• BLS Accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and physiology

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in ultrasound preferred
• Nuchal Translucency (NT) Certification preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Credentials

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
• REGISTERED DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER (RDMS)
