Responsibilities
- Manage more complex patient cases and provide specialized care to patients with unique medical needs or conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, selecting appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images based on the specific clinical indication or area of interest.
- Interpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identifying any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology that may be present and communicating findings to radiologists or referring physicians.
- Proficient in using advanced imaging techniques and technologies, such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, or ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, aspirations, injections, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures).
- Perform a wider range of ultrasound examinations, including more complex or specialized imaging studies, such as obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, or musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Qualifications
- RVT(ARDMS), RVS (CCI) or VS (ARRT) certification required within 90 days of hire and maintain.
- Additional certification from ARDMS in Abdomen, Breast, or OB-GYN required within 90 days of hire.
- Graduate from an accredited vascular ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire.
- Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current.
