Responsibilities
- Counsels and prepares patients for examinations.
- Interviews patients to understand risk factors and medical history.
- Selects appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters.
- Guides patients through examinations, explaining the process and addressing concerns.
- Collaborates with colleagues to plan workday and patient flow.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of clinical imaging experience, three (3) of which must be in ultrasound / sonography.
- Registered as an Ultrasound / Sonography technologist from ARDMS.
- Good understanding of human anatomy.
- Experience reading and interpreting complex radiology orders.
- Experience with PACS.
- PREFERRED: Additional continuing education in sonography specializations.
