Responsibilities
- Execute assigned tasks within the ultrasound area with guidance, including diagnostic routine echocardiographic and electrocardiographic testing procedures, clinical activities, diagnostic 2D, 3D/4D, and M-Mode tracings, as well as pre-analytic and post-analytic support.
- Communicate with patients and families as directed to support the execution of tests per protocol.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and order supplies, including preparation and submission of requisitions.
- Provide support for documentation as per defined guidelines, including storage, retrieval, tracking, disposal of paper, electronic and film imaging records, process logs, files, and billing reports.
- Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Candidates must have successfully passed the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) Examination at the time of hire.
- Some administrative support experience preferred (e.g., electronic data entry, records management, word processing, spreadsheet).
- Experience with medical terminology preferred.
Qualifications
- One of the following certifications is required by law:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within six months of employment.
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) obtained within six months of employment.
- Pediatric Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS-PS) must be obtained within 12 months of start date.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $54,080 - $94,640 per year for the role of Ultrasound Technologist I - Part-time.
