About the role

The Ultrasound Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare continuum, performing diagnostic sonography examinations and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follows physician's orders to perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information.
  • Greets patients, correctly identifies them, prepares them for examinations, and explains specific procedures in a confidential area.
  • Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information, and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Maintains patient imaging records accurately, utilizing the Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS/Synapse application in compliance with HIPAA and company guidelines.
  • Prepares preliminary reports for radiologists and contacts referring physicians as required.
  • Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, ensuring adequate supplies are available and contacts service as necessary.
  • Maintains PACS/Synapse and RIS database for integrity of patient information and proper transfer.
  • May be assigned to other modalities if certified or licensed.
  • Complies with annual mandatory Fit Testing as a job requirement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a formally accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Vascular Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Complete 5 hours of CME specific to Breast Ultrasound within 30 days of hire or hold an active ARDMS Breast Registry
  • 1+ years of experience in field
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of sonographic equipment and procedures
  • Flexible to work overtime and on call as needed
  • Reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in field
  • EPIC and PACS experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and results with patients and providers

Skills

  • Knowledge of sonographic equipment
  • Knowledge of sonographic procedures and diagnosis

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
