Part-time position, 24 hours per week on weeknights (Monday and Thursday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). A sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates.

Pay

$35.50 - $53.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and coordinates ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.
  • Performs ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Provides adequate patient care related to the requested exam.
  • Operates ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency.
  • Examines requests and verifies orders for each assigned patient.
  • Assists radiologists in performing invasive procedures.
  • Evaluates technical quality of exams and develops varied techniques for improved efficiency.
  • Supports and contributes to the Patient-Centered Care philosophy.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer, and/or Engineer.
  • Operates the Radiology computer system, including entering and charging exams and supplies.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area and ensures it is fully stocked.
  • Adheres to departmental rules and regulations while maintaining professional conduct.

Requirements

  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Sonography).
  • One of the following registries required: Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
  • BLS certification required.
  • Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles and skills appropriate to patient ages, cultures, developmental stages, and special needs.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers.
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies (up to 600 pounds with assistance).
  • Work requires walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting during normal operation.
  • Requires mental skills to read and comprehend patient orders and technical materials.
  • Motor coordination needed to operate heavy and delicate equipment.
  • Intact sense of sight and hearing.
