Provide healthcare services for patients through the application of non-ionizing radiation (ultrasound). Perform ultrasound procedures for interpretation by a licensed practitioner, serving a patient population ranging from newborn to maturity. Exercise professional judgment and maintain a demeanor that aligns with the department’s values and mission, ensuring professional interactions with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators, and other hospital staff.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients according to established protocols or physician instructions, using immobilization devices as needed.
  • Determine proper and satisfactory ultrasound technique, using appropriate probes 98% of the time, as reviewed by a radiologist or QC Technologist.
  • Verify informed consent 100% of the time for specific special procedures, such as biopsy exams.
  • Adhere to productivity, quality assurance, customer service, and code of conduct standards to achieve departmental excellence.
  • Ensure all procedures are “completed” in the RIS system and “verified” in PACS after finalization; maintain no more than 3 uncompleted studies in any 12-month period.
  • Perform and complete an average of 10 routine exams during an eight-hour shift, as verified by RIS management reports.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Ultrasound Program.
  • ARDMS certification and current active registration required.
  • Annual fit testing required.
  • Valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $49.76 - $51.77 per hour, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.
