Work Type: Restricted Part Time/As Needed/PRN (Total FTE less than 0.5) • Shift 1 (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

About the Role

The Sonographer has formal training from an accredited Ultrasound, Vascular, or Echocardiography program and possesses or is eligible to acquire certification in any of the registries defined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Primary duties include creating diagnostic sonographs that meet professional and departmental quality standards while providing patient- and family-focused care in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient- and family-focused care that supports a welcoming, supportive environment and a positive patient experience.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow departmental protocols and procedures; produce work that meets quality standards.
• Identify and flag abnormalities in diagnostic images.
• Produce work efficiently to meet departmental productivity standards.
• Maintain the physical work environment to meet departmental and regulatory requirements.
• Operate and troubleshoot IT systems that support the modality; report supply shortages or equipment failures to the section supervisor.
• Follow work and patient schedules.
• Assist physicians in the performance of procedures.
• Maintain logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
• Provide patient history or information necessary for proper interpretation of procedures.
• Maintain licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
• Participate in the training and development of students assigned through clinical affiliations.
• Fill department staffing needs as identified by the management team.
• Perform diagnostic sonographs on a portable basis.

Requirements

• Formal training in an accredited Ultrasound Program.
• Registry or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Proficiency in modality physics and operation of equipment.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, and physiology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications by Level

• Level 1: Maintains one ARDMS registry.
• Level 2: Maintains two ARDMS registries.
• Level 3: Maintains three ARDMS registries.
• Level 4: Maintains four ARDMS registries.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
• Manual and finger dexterity; eye-hand coordination.

Pay

Pay Range: $45.00 per hour. Rush salaries are determined by factors including education, job-related experience, skills, and internal equity, as well as industry-specific market data. Offers may vary depending on individual circumstances.
