Ultrasound Technician / PRN / Call Only

Role Overview Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures under indirect supervision of a Radiologist, including assisting with invasive US biopsies. Accurately capture and evaluate ultrasound images, documenting findings and communicating results to the Radiologist. Operate imaging equipment such as transducers, cameras, printers, RIS, and PACS systems, ensuring proper maintenance and inventory management. Explain procedures to patients, address questions to reduce anxiety, and maintain a professional and courteous environment. Handle all RIS functions including order entry and billing. Ensure safety by reporting hazards, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. Maintain competencies across ultrasound procedures and assist in other imaging department areas when needed. Operate and disinfect probes with high-level disinfection systems. Physical demands include lifting over 20 pounds, standing for extended periods, and using fine motor skills. Work environment requires adaptability, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Qualifications & Skills Registered with ARDMS in physics, vascular, and abdominal preferred. Minimum Of 5 Years Of Relevant Work Experience. Associates degree or higher. Current BLS certification. Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills. Ability to maintain safety standards and operate ultrasound and RIS/PACS systems effectively.
