About the role
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasonic diagnostic procedures to patients according to physicians' orders and protocols. This clinical position requires skills and experience in ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality testing while supporting the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.
Responsibilities
- Proficiently perform ultrasound procedures in the department and other areas, utilizing Infection Control principles when performing exams.
- Maintain all policies and procedures for sterilizing transducers.
- Act collaboratively with radiologist staff to provide appropriate procedure data and communicate effectively with technical and medical staff.
- Participate in QC/PI activities and work within guidelines to maintain ACR Accreditation.
- Appropriately and completely enter all required data into PACS/RIS.
- Participate in the clinical oversight of student trainees.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Qualifications
- Current registration with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification (ARDMS) within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
