Job Summary

Absorbs responsibility for performing the full range of technical procedures within special modality areas. Operates independently with minimal supervision. Provides patient care during imaging exams for patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Exhibits knowledge and competency in patient care skills.

Education Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited ultrasound program is required.

Certification/Licensure Requirements

  • Valid ultrasound certification required.
  • Maintain a current CPR certification.

Experience

  • At least one year of experience in healthcare medical radiology, imaging, and/or therapy field preferred.

Language/Communication Skills

  • English required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job.

Mathematical Skills

  • Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator.
  • Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents.

Reasoning Ability

  • Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Must have critical thinking and multitasking skills are a must.
  • Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.
  • Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual.
