Position Pay Range: $42.35 - $54.60 | Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm

About the role

Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists Radiologist during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
  • Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam; notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Assists Radiologist on specialized exams.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment; immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment.
  • Potential exposure to radiation (minimized by Personal Protective Equipment), bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a medical office environment.
  • Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Physical Demands

  • May exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound (preferred).
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectations.
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.
  • Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry (preferred).
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
