Position involves travel to Rancho Cucamonga, Loma Linda, Murrieta, and Victorville.

About the role

The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist, under minimal supervision, performs complex diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams in accordance with department protocols. Provides a high level of care to ultrasound and vascular patients. Supports the major objectives of the department such as excellence in clinical services, educational activities, research and development, employee environmental conditions, and reduction of medical costs. Maintains proficiency in performance and workflow. Assists and maintains training and education in the radiology department as well as within the specific modality. Required to be on-call, and hours may vary according to assignments. Performs other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams following department protocols.
  • Provide high-level care to ultrasound and vascular patients.
  • Support department objectives in clinical services, education, research, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain proficiency in performance, workflow, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Assist in training and education within the radiology department and specific modality.
  • Be available for on-call assignments with variable hours.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Minimum two years' experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a medical center preferred.
  • Knowledge of Abdomen, Abdominal Doppler, OB/GYN, Small Parts, and Interventional Sonographic Procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English (Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
  • Proficiency in using computer and software programs necessary for the position.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple assignments, and work under pressure.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, smells, sounds, and temperature variances necessary for patient care.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Core Certification of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Obstetrics, or Gynecology required or must attain within six months of hire date.
  • Specialty credential in Breast, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Sonography, Vascular Technology, Fetal Echocardiography, maternal-fetal medicine, or Musculoskeletal Sonography preferred.
