About the role
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in the Radiology - Ultrasound department, working on a per diem basis as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and special procedure ultrasonography following established policies and procedures.
- Report to a radiology or ultrasound coordinator.
- Obtain certification as a Registered Vascular Sonographer within one year if hired as a general sonographer.
- Demonstrate independent testing, effective patient interaction, and adaptability to departmental changes.
- Relay pertinent information clearly to interpreting physicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited diagnostic sonographic program and ARDMS certification.
- At least 2 years of ultrasound experience.
Preferred Skills
- BLS certification; ACLS may be required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle patient distress effectively.
Pay
Hourly pay ranges from $28.94 to $51.63, based on experience and certifications.
