Ultrasonographer - Inpatient

About the role
The Ultrasonographer performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing high frequency sound waves to produce quality images for the detection of pathology. This individual performs all diagnostic ultrasound exams including: abdomen, obstetrical, gynecological, small parts, and vascular. In the Vascular Clinic, this individual performs all vascular ultrasounds including lower extremity venous insufficiency and DVT vascular checks. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams including abdomen, obstetrical, gynecological, small parts, and vascular studies
- Perform vascular ultrasounds including lower extremity venous insufficiency and DVT vascular checks
- Produce quality images for the detection of pathology using high frequency sound waves
Requirements
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound program
- Active Ultrasound registry through ARRT or ARDMS
- BLS certification

Working Conditions
- Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday
- Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
- Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person
- Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range
- Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
- Minimal noise levels
- Much exposure to computer work
- Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock
- Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks
- Some exposure to hazardous chemicals
