Full-time position (1.0 FTE) in the Ultrasound department at UnityPoint Health – Allen. Shifts available: 1st, 3rd, and weekend package; includes call, weekend, and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible with a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid over 2 years.

Responsibilities
- Assist in rooms and patient care to meet staffing needs, including completing schedules, addressing payroll, and supporting staff education, in-services, and specialized training programs.
- Help with hiring and orientation of new staff.
- Provide leadership by coordinating and delegating patient care, acting as supervisor in their absence, and ensuring flexibility in daily operations.
- Manage daily patient care operations, maintain high-quality and cost-effective services, and identify key variances. Act as an interdepartmental liaison to promote multidisciplinary teamwork and implement cost-saving ideas.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes, maintain professional expertise, and promote growth among coworkers.
- Resolve complex unit situations, such as patient complaints and crises, in collaboration with the assigned supervisor.
- Research and recommend short- and long-term strategies to meet patient care needs and assist in achieving departmental goals.
- Represent UnityPoint Health professionally, promote positive interpersonal relations, and serve as a role model within the department and hospital.
- Evaluate sonograms for technical quality and ensure correct machine settings for accurate imaging.
- Perform equipment calibrations and adjustments, select technical factors and imaging modes, and inform supervisor or call for service when needed.
Requirements
- Must be certified and hold current registration with the ARDMS or the ARRT in Sonography.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography.
