Essential Duties
- Manages a project crew of 40+ with sub foreman
- Led pre-installation planning efforts, including work sequencing, layout strategy, constructability review and installation of electrical components based on specifications and codes coordination of Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
- Collaborates with BIM Specialist on project needs
- Aids in material procurement, including organizing and tracking purchase orders
- Develops project schedules and provides trade milestones to relevant staff; communicates with crew and project leadership to ensure coordination and satisfactory progress
- Develops and maintains short-interval (look-ahead) plans to support overall project schedule and manpower leveling
- Keeps Project Manager informed of any project changes or delays
- Supports change order identification and pricing by providing field input, quantities, and schedule impacts
- Understands labor budgets and productivity goals; monitors manpower efficiency and proactively communicates cost or schedule risks to the Project Manager
- Studies and evaluates blueprints spec books, and tracks changes and as-builts
- Represents the electrical scope in coordination meetings with other trades and general contractor supervision
- Coordinates with subcontractors under Uihlein as needed
- Implements quality control practices in the field and coordinates with QA/QC teams to ensure labeling, testing, and turnover documentation meet contract requirements
- Maintains accurate daily reports, manpower logs, progress tracking, and change documentation to support schedule, cost control, and claims avoidance
- Leads by example in enforcing safety policies, conducts regular safety briefings, identifies and mitigates hazards, and holds crew leaders accountable for crew safety performance
- Inspects electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs while ensuring compliance with local codes
- Aids in project closeout process
- Mentors and trains direct reports, evaluates and identifies future field leaders; identifies training needs and ensures crew upholds Company policies and holds them accountable for performance
- Completes required employee evaluations and provides timely feedback
- Performs other assigned duties as needed
- Current Journeyman or Master Electrician with a Wisconsin license
- Current IBEW member, or willingness to become a Union member with Uihlein’s support
- 5+ years of prior Foreman experience
- Data Center experience a plus but not required
- Fire Alarm experience a plus but not required
- Ability to run project crews on large and/or small projects and supervise, evaluate, and develop Lead Journeymen, Journeymen, and Apprentices
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, all phases of project installation, electrical control work, troubleshooting, and procurement of electrical material and parts
- Knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classifications
- Holds OSHA 30 Certification and current First Aid/CPR Certification
