About the role
This position is located in Arlington, VA, USA, with a hybrid working model acceptable. Active TS/SCI clearance is required, and active TS/SCI with Poly is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Conducting user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to understand user needs and behaviors.
- Creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes of user interfaces, ensuring they are intuitive and aligned with user expectations.
- Evaluating the usability of designs through testing and feedback, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement and refine designs.
- Applying human factors principles (e.g., cognitive load, perception, motor skills) to design systems that are safe, efficient, and comfortable for users.
- Documenting design decisions, research findings, and usability test results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired.
- Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
- Experience with various research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Knowledge of human capabilities, limitations, and cognitive processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and present findings.
- Ability to identify and solve usability issues and propose creative solutions.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., PenPot, Adobe Creative Cloud) and basic coding skills.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $160,000.00 - $180,000.00.
