Accountabilities
- Serve as a bridge between design and engineering teams, ensuring user-centered concepts are translated into effective, scalable, and accessible digital experiences.
- Combine UX expertise, front-end development capabilities, and collaboration skills to support iterative product delivery and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX specialists, architects, and developers to transform user research into actionable design solutions.
- Translate prototypes and design concepts into responsive, accessible, and high-quality front-end implementations.
- Apply Human-Centered Design methodologies throughout the product lifecycle, including research, validation, prototyping, and delivery.
- Define and maintain UI/UX standards, coding practices, reusable components, and design system guidelines.
- Evaluate interfaces for usability, accessibility, and compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
- Support Agile sprint cycles through rapid prototyping, design reviews, and iterative improvements.
- Partner with quality assurance and compliance teams to validate user experience and accessibility in production environments.
- Contribute to shared design libraries, templates, and reusable UI components to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Analyze user feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Provide recommendations on interaction design, usability improvements, and technology approaches.
Requirements
- Broad experience in UI/UX engineering, human-centered design, and enterprise application development.
- Significant experience supporting enterprise or government applications.
- Strong experience applying Human-Centered Design methodologies and usability research practices.
- Proven knowledge of Agile and SAFe delivery environments and iterative design processes.
- Experience with usability testing methods such as heuristic evaluations, card sorting, A/B testing, and user validation techniques.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, Miro, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles, and front-end development workflows.
- Experience with Sass or other CSS preprocessors.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and understand technical constraints impacting user experiences.
- Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to recommend improvements.
- Experience with federal digital modernization programs, secure application design, DesignOps practices, or data-driven UX optimization.
- Familiarity with UX analytics tools, AI-assisted UX solutions, predictive usability models, or secure design principles.
