About the role
Bcore is seeking a UI/UX Developer to join our Insight Solutions division in Reston, VA. The role requires a hybrid work schedule with 3 days on-site.
Responsibilities
- Design and build software products users rely on for solving complex problems, transforming workflows, and analyzing large datasets.
- Develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces for web-based applications.
- Build front-end components and applications using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or similar, collaborating with full-stack and AI engineers.
- Optimize user experiences by converting real user pain points into creative solutions, visualizations, and interfaces.
- Apply Human-Centered Design principles and iterate quickly with real users to refine designs and validate assumptions.
- Develop multiple design options and objectively present them, considering pros, cons, costs, and risks.
- Create navigational experiences that allow users to explore complex material at their own pace and provide summary-level analytics.
- Ensure applications meet usability standards and accessibility best practices.
- Contribute to and maintain consistent design patterns, components, and style guides.
- Work directly with users to shape product vision, user experience, and application design.
- Translate user needs into functional design solutions and ensure applications are optimized for performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product leads, and stakeholders to align UI/UX with new capabilities.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years of experience designing and building user-facing products.
- Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Experience with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
- Demonstrated understanding of UX principles, usability, and interaction design.
- Working knowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and methods (contextual inquiry, personas, task and journey mapping, iterative prototyping, and usability testing).
- Ability to develop multiple design options and present them objectively, with clear articulation of pros, cons, and trade-offs.
- Experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Experience designing self-paced, exploratory navigation and summary-level analytics.
- Familiarity with APIs and backend integration.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience designing and developing intuitive user interfaces for data-driven applications.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI eligibility preferred.

Pay
The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $105,000-$165,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
