About The Role
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our labor marketplace platform. As a UI/UX Designer at MCI, you will be responsible for designing intuitive, scalable, and engaging interfaces for web and mobile applications that facilitate seamless interactions among candidates, employers, recruiters, and workforce managers. Your work will directly influence key performance metrics such as hiring velocity, candidate quality, platform engagement, and long-term user retention. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, HR, and operations to translate complex human-resource workflows into elegant and human-centered design solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5+ years of UI/UX design experience, preferably with marketplaces, HR technology, gig-economy platforms, ATS/CRM systems, or workforce management products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, with a focus on conversion-driven flows.
- Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and establishing design systems.
- Ability to translate ambiguous or complex problems into clear, human-centered design solutions.
- Experience working with product metrics such as drop-off points, CTA conversions, and task completion times.
- Deep understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Knowledge of front-end implementation constraints, including React and component libraries.
- Motion and interaction design skills to enhance user engagement.
- Passion for human-centered design and solving real-world workforce challenges.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work seamlessly across product, engineering, and operational teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform design decisions.
- Creative problem-solving ability with attention to detail and scalability considerations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the UI/UX design efforts for our labor marketplace platform across both web and mobile interfaces.
- Map and optimize user journeys for candidates, employers, recruiters, and workforce managers to ensure intuitive workflows.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard tools, primarily Figma.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system that supports rapid development, scalability, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to define features, design workflows, and plan sprints effectively.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design concepts and refine hiring and engagement flows.
- Utilize data-driven insights to optimize conversion funnels, reduce friction, and increase user engagement.
- Design key platform components such as dashboards, onboarding flows, scheduling tools, messaging interfaces, and profile pages tailored to different personas.
- Address complex workforce challenges such as availability, pay rates, compliance, onboarding, and hiring velocity through innovative UX solutions.
- Ensure designs are accessible, responsive, and align with best practices in human-centered design.
