Black Cape is a unique technology company focused on full-stack web applications, advanced data analysis tools, and integrating AI/ML capabilities for federal government customers. We support programs across the Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) as both a prime and subcontractor, building mission-critical applications on aggressive schedules. • High-Fidelity Mockups: Craft detailed, interactive mockups that clarify highly technical government data and serve as a clear blueprint for developers.
  • Collaborative Design: Transform feedback from analysts and operators into elegant, secure, and highly functional interfaces.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly.
  • US Citizenship (required for security clearance).
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience working onsite with DoD and/or IC customers.
  • Strong ability to design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web applications.
  • Strong ability to drive overall visual design, layout, and composition of web applications.
  • Experience working with end-users to identify needs, articulate challenges, and propose user-centric solutions.
  • Familiarity collaborating with full-stack development teams in Agile workflows.
  • Portfolio or experience demonstrating skills in wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual design.
  • Experience with at least one of the following design tools: Figma (preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience meeting directly with application stakeholders.
  • Experience developing User Personas, User Studies, and Information Architecture.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements and best practices.
  • Prior work in environments with strict accreditation and security requirements.
