About the Role

The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and collaborates with department personnel.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards.
• Assist tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and monitor dig crews to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials to complete the job.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment and routinely requires:

• Extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting.
• Working in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Clarity of vision at varying distances and precise hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
