UFO Production Support Specialist

About the role
The Production Support Specialist assists the Production Support Manager in the technical execution and integration of daily production work activities.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the development of daily work schedules and job assignments.
- Monitoring, coordinating, and resolving issues related to production schedules and facility condition.
- Serving as a relief supervisor as requested.
- Supporting shift and pre-job briefings.
- Developing and monitoring operating and procedural practices and ensures documentation required by those practices is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Identifying and implementing Lean/7S improvements to processes and operations practices.
- Supporting Production Operations management in liaison with bargaining unit employees, overtime management, training status, staffing actions, and other personnel activities as requested.
- Performing other duties as assigned to provide leadership in maintaining safe working conditions, proactively preventing injuries, contaminations and exposures and supporting the safe, efficient and effective flow of work within the production area.
- Assist in completion of Periodic Reviews for foundry related systems.
Accountabilities
- To the Production Support Manager for daily support of efficient, effective, and safe work execution within the production area.
- To their assigned crews for completion of tasks that support a safe and efficient work environment.
Authorities
- Authorized to manage the production craft workers to support mission deliverables when assigned as a relief supervisor.
- Authorized to represent Production Support Manager at daily plan of day meeting and in interactions with maintenance for scheduling necessary maintenance on equipment.
- Authorized to represent workers in development of procedures and operating protocols that directly affect the work conditions and job performance.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. OR
- Master's degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. OR
- PhD.
- Twelve or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical, organizational and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of related production and facility support equipment and maintenance processes.
- A working knowledge of CNS Technical Services requirements and waste acceptance criteria is desired.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Experienced in working in foundry environment.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required. Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
