About the role
The Production Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Finance applications by ensuring the stability, resiliency, and scalability of production systems. This role combines traditional application support with modern SRE principles, including automation, intelligent monitoring, AI-driven optimization, and continuous improvement. The position involves supporting complex, real-time, and batch-oriented production environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize batch scheduling and orchestration using Autosys, Quartz, or Airflow schedulers.
- Triage and resolve incidents, communicate effectively, and prevent recurrence.
- Manage production service functions, including incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
- Create comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Identify and mitigate production risks, driving incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Achieve and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for uptime, performance, and incident response.
- Act as the escalation point between business, development, and technology teams.
- Collaborate with business partners to align priorities, readiness, and reporting requirements.
- Lead day-to-day production operations across platforms including Informatica, Oracle, and Unix-based systems.
- Monitor the health, availability, and performance of production applications using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
Requirements
- 4-10 years of production support experience in financial services, preferably in regulatory reporting.
- Experience supporting complex, real-time, and batch-oriented production environments.
- Expertise in incident, problem, change, and request management processes.
- Strong technical skills in Informatica, Unix/Windows OS, SQL, Oracle, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl).
- Working knowledge of monitoring systems (Dynatrace, Splunk) and batch scheduling tools (Autosys/Quartz/Airflow).
- Experience adopting automation frameworks and AI-based productivity tools.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical partners.
- A self-starter and innovative thinker with the ability to lead or guide team members.
Skills
