About the Role
The udder dropper is responsible for marking patterns or removing the udder from carcasses. This involves making the first pattern cut on the hide by cutting from the round seam to the navel on steers or marking around and removing the udder on cows.
Responsibilities
- On steers, mark hide between legs and continue with midline opening to navel.
- On cows, remove udder starting at the top and cutting around each side to remove the complete udder.
- Avoid cutting into the udder to prevent milk contamination.
- Use a steel knife and place it into a sterilizer after each carcass.
- Perform other related duties as needed to meet organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work in humid, hot, wet, slippery, or varied-height environments around moving equipment while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience or knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
- Previous heavy machinery experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous agriculture production or beef plant experience.

Physical Demands
The role requires occasional standing, walking, or sitting; use of hands to handle tools; reaching with hands and arms; and communication. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects and possess close, distance, and color vision abilities.
