Essential Functions
- Schedules, assigns and reviews work.
- Evaluates performance which may include accompanying staff on transports.
- Develops quality control procedures and standards.
- Ensures all work is in adherence to departmental standards and pertinent government regulations.
- Issues oral and written reprimands and recommends suspension and termination, and recommends other personnel actions (e.g. leave of absence, wage increase, etc.).
- Authorizes sick and vacation leave.
- Provides training, guidance and direction and assists with the development of agency policy and procedures.
- Advises the deputy director and agency director of unit needs and/or concerns providing a potential solution.
- Prepares activity reports and compiles related statistics.
- Maintains required licensures and certification, if any.
- Supervises UCATS Vehicle Operator – Full Time and Part Time, UCATS Lead Vehicle Operator, Dispatcher, and other staff as assigned.
Job Standards
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Work experience meeting the minimum essential functions of the position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Normal hearing and normal vision, with the aid of corrective devices, as needed.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Represents the agency in a positive and professional manner and provides appropriate internal and external customer service.
Qualifications

Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, exert up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and 10-26 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to bend, twist, push and lift as required.
- Ability to assist disabled clients into and out of vehicles.
- Ability to investigate customer complaints and transportation accidents.
- Ability to assist with applications and reports and administer approved programs funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation, Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, and other agencies.
- Ability to prepare billing information.
- Ability to evaluate routing needs and effectiveness.
- Ability to coordinate and evaluate vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to assist in emergency situations in office and after-hours as needed.
- Ability to complete other duties as assigned by Deputy Director or Agency Director.
- Ability to meet all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards.
- Ability to perform miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain required licensures and certification, if any.
