UC Case Aide - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

About the role

Bethany Christian Services is a non-profit organization working across 29 states to support children, foster families, and refugees. As a UC Case Aide, you will assist unaccompanied children and older youth in their journey towards family reunification and adulthood.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies.
  • Effectively report the behavior of children during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team.
  • Assist with intake and discharge related transportation, including travel between states for reunification with sponsors.
  • Support the medical team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Offer language interpretation services for clients attending community appointments.
  • Supervise youth in classrooms, as needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and participate in continuous training in the Sanctuary Model of Care.
  • Participate in Bethany-sponsored events as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of trauma and willingness to be trained in the Sanctuary Model of Care.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to provide language interpretation services.
  • Ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability with time-sensitive tasks.
  • Computer skills sufficient for essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S.
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage.
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
  • Integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care.
  • Relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs.
  • Properly trained and licensed, as necessary.
  • Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route.
