About the role

The position involves assisting in teaching basic gardening lessons incorporating STEM concepts to students and community members, helping with garden activities, monitoring pest and disease occurrences, and reporting to the site supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic gardening lessons incorporating STEM concepts to students and community members participating in the gardening classes.
• Help in all Garden activities from garden bed preparation, planting, weeding, etc., and monitor pest and disease occurrence then report them to the site supervisor.
• Comply with other activities required by the program such as National Day of Service, Civic Engagement Projects, etc.
• Maintain a record of activities and communicate project needs to the Site Supervisor.

Requirements

• Knowledge in gardening & the local environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (knowledge of Spanish a plus)
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
• Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
