U/W Liaison II

Essential Functions

• Examine and analyze loan conditions, determine if Underwriter oversight is required and clear conditions accordingly.
• Gain all underwriting authority for conforming and government loans.
• Provide customer service to Retail and Correspondent origination staff related to general product questions, resolving inquiries related to pricing, eligibility, lock policy, and loan scenarios.
• Aid in underwriting new decisions and clearing conditions based on the current capacity load to help maintain Service Level Agreements during peak times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of five years’ total mortgage experience including high level underwriting authority with DE/SARExpert-level understanding of the intricacies of mortgage product guidelines and process.
• Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to act as a team player, eliminating silos and effectively working with others.
• Strong critical thinking skills with an eye for strengthening and/or improving processes.
• Ethical, with a commitment to company values.

Requirements

• Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
• Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
• Environmental: Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

• General to limited supervision required.
