Position Overview
Amidst the robust landscape of nuclear innovation, BWX Technologies, Inc., a prominent player in the nuclear sector, seeks a Mid-level designer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in executing design tasks for assigned projects, often collaborating with external partners and internal engineers.
Location
On-site in Erwin, Tennessee.
Your Day To Day
- Perform design functions independently on projects, with some supervisory oversight.
- Produce design details of equipment, facilities, and structures in compliance with industry standards.
- Consult with architects, engineers, vendors, and construction contractors to fulfill project requirements.
- Determine materials and equipment specifications and take-offs for structures, processing, and utility equipment.
- Assist engineers and designers with technical designs and identify and resolve technical design issues.
- Take on direct responsibility for specific tasks as assigned.
- Maintain CADD systems as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A.S. in Graphic Design or 4 years CAD design experience in lieu of the degree.
- With A. S. Degree, 6 - 8 years' experience as a CAD Designer with Microstation training or experience.
- Without degree, 10 years CAD design/drafting experience.
Pay
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
