Two Assistant Professors in Statistics
Two tenure-track assistant professor positions in the Department of Statistics at Iowa State University, beginning August 16, 2027. One position emphasizes sports analytics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a high-quality, high-impact research program
- Compete for external research funding
- Collaborate with researchers at Iowa State in statistics and other disciplines
- Engage in professional and institutional service
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in statistics and data science
- Advise graduate students in one of the first and largest statistics graduate programs in the country
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree in statistics or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date
Qualifications
- Foundational training in statistics and data science
- Ability to teach statistics and data science classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Ability to develop and sustain a high-impact research program with potential to secure external research funding
- Ability to contribute to Iowa State University’s growing strength in data science and, for one position, sports analytics
