About the Project

This 1,500 square foot condominium suite, located in a 14-storey building originally built in 1984, was completely gutted and renovated to better suit the design sensibilities and functional requirements of the clients.

Design and Features

The renovated residence maintains all original plumbing locations but was reconfigured to open up the main living area to better suit entertaining, to increase overall storage, and to more efficiently use space. The main living area’s interior finishes feature extensive new walnut millwork, including an angled wood slat partition wall at the entry, a display and entertainment unit with sliding doors in the living room, built-in hutch in the dining room, and complete kitchen cabinetry.

The floor was finished in long, slender porcelain tiles that are intentionally produced to contain a random mix of 15 different tones within the selected ‘fog’ colour palette. The white walls are treated as a backdrop for the client’s extensive art collection and detailed with a hidden cove lighting reveal along the ceiling.

Auxiliary Spaces

The auxiliary spaces, including the master bedroom, office, laundry, and washrooms, were all finished with a simple white and grey colour palette. The washroom floors consist of the same porcelain tiles as the main living area but in a square format and ‘pigeon’ colour palette, while the walls consist of large format white glazed ceramic tile.
