Tutoring Elementary School Students
Description
The Children's Education Project is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support elementary students through one-on-one and small-group tutoring during the upcoming school year.
As a volunteer tutor, you'll help students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop positive relationships in a supportive learning environment. No teaching experience is required—we provide training, lesson materials, and ongoing support to help you feel prepared and successful.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Flexible scheduling (30-minute to 2-hour shifts)
- In-person tutoring at elementary schools in Oakland
- Virtual tutoring opportunities available
- Semester-long or full school-year commitments welcome

Tutors will receive an invitation email with the sign-up link. Tutors will need to attend a small orientation, be TB tested, and fingerprinted before working with students.
